Weekend Baking: Ideas for Weekend Baking Projects

Hey Reader,

If you're in the mood for a weekend baking project, here are my recommendations for a weekend of relaxed baking - taking your time and enjoying the project.

  • Homemade Brioche Loaf: I love brioche and it was fun making this recipe. It uses a combination of AP flour and bread flour, but you can use all AP flour if you don't have bread flour.
  • Pecan Cinnamon Rolls: If you love cinnamon rolls try this homemade version made with a tender dough and plenty of brown sugar and butter.
  • Brioche Sugar Buns: These sugar buns are fun to make and even more fun to eat. Enjoy them warm straight from the oven or toasted with jam.
  • Strawberry Cream Filled Doughnuts: This is one of my favorite desserts - I love this sweet tart combination of strawberry and rhubarb.
  • Chocolate Sour Cream Pound Cake: If you love chocolate you'll love this deep chocolate cake from America's Test Kitchen. I added a chocolate ganache glaze because you can't have too much chocolate.

SPRING RECIPES COOKIE RECIPES CAKE RECIPES Hey Reader, One of the things I love about this time of year is making jams. Because it's just me and my husband at home, my recipes are all small batch and stored in the refrigerator. My favorite of this bunch? The apricot jam. I can eat it by the spoonful. Key Tips for Making Jam Use an instant-read thermometer to check the temperature. You can also use the cold plate test, which involves placing a small plate in the freezer and then adding a small...

SPRING RECIPES COOKIE RECIPES CAKE RECIPES Hey Reader, Have you ever pulled a cake out of the oven, looking all gorgeous, only to have it sink in the middle as it cools? Yeah, me too! Not enough leavening (aka baking powder) and too much moisture. But the same thing can happen when you have too much baking...
